Attack On Titan Final Season Ep 7

Okay, let's talk about Attack on Titan. Specifically, Final Season Part 1, Episode 7. Remember that one?
I've got an unpopular opinion brewing. Prepare yourselves.
“Assault” - More Like… Waiting Around?
The episode's called "Assault." It sounds exciting, right?
Must Read
I mean, we're talking about a series known for titans eating people and intense battles. But honestly, I felt like most of the episode was just… waiting.
Waiting for the battle to start. Waiting for something, anything, to actually happen. Maybe I’m just impatient?
The Tension Was Palpable… But Slow
Don't get me wrong. The tension was definitely there. You could cut it with a knife. All that build-up was something!
But it felt like an eternal build-up. Like that rollercoaster that slowly climbs to the top, and you’re just bracing yourself for the drop... which never seems to come!

It felt like we were all just collectively holding our breath, anticipating the storm about to break.
Pieck: The Unsung Hero of Procrastination?
Let's talk about Pieck. I actually love her as a character.
She's smart, strategic, and a genuinely good person... for someone working for the other side, that is.
But in this episode, it felt like her main job was to stall. “Hmm, let's double-check everything... five times!”
I almost expected her to pull out a "While you're waiting" pamphlet. Anything to kill the time! It was like she was deliberately milking her scenes. I appreciate her thoroughness though!

The Cart Titan's Many Moods
The Cart Titan. An unsung hero of transportation! I mean, talk about a workhorse.
But the Cart Titan in this episode seemed… particularly mopey? Is it just me?
All that crawling around, looking stressed. I just wanted to give the poor thing a hug and a carrot.
I wonder if they get paid overtime. Transporting those cannons looked like a tough job!

Where’s The Action?!
Look, I get it. You can't have non-stop action. Story and character development is important. Very, very important.
But sometimes I watch Attack on Titan for the epic fights! Give me the titans smashing things! I mean, I want the crazy action!
Episode 7 felt like the calm before the storm. A very, very long calm. Too long maybe?
The Cliffhanger, Though…
Okay, I'll admit it. That cliffhanger at the end was a good one. Eren showing up? Epic!
It made the entire episode worthwhile. But also made me scream because I have to wait for the next episode!

Talk about a masterclass in delaying gratification! Did it make up for the slow build-up? Almost. Almost.
Final Verdict (Maybe I'm Wrong?)
So, yeah. "Assault" wasn't my favorite episode. It felt slow. I'm calling it: a bit of a letdown.
But hey, maybe I'm just being impatient. Maybe I need to appreciate the nuance and the strategic planning and Pieck's excellent time management skills.
What do you think? Am I alone in this? Or did anyone else feel like Episode 7 was just a really long bathroom break before the real battle started?
Let me know! Maybe you can convince me that I’m completely wrong. Until then, I'll just be over here, waiting for the next episode. With a carrot, just in case.
