Ascendance Of A Bookworm Part 1 Volume 1

Okay, let's be real. We've all had that moment, right? The one where you just REALLY want to stay in bed and read.
Well, Ascendance of a Bookworm takes that feeling and cranks it up to eleven. Part 1 Volume 1, "Soldier's Daughter," plunges us into the bizarre and book-deprived world of Main.
Reincarnation: Now with Less Books!
Our heroine, ahem, I mean, our protagonist, is reborn into a poor family. No problem, right? Except there are barely any books!
Must Read
Imagine! A world where printing is crazy expensive. Libraries? Forget about it. It's a bookworm's worst nightmare, honestly.
Paper Cuts and Existential Dread
Main's solution? Make her own! Talk about dedication. She’s resourceful, she’s stubborn, and she's got a bad case of the book-loving blues.
Seriously, watching her struggle to even conceptualize paper is both hilarious and heartbreaking. Paper is life!

You know, I think her resourcefulness is the best part of the story. She really did came out with all kind of idea to get her dream book.
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Okay, here’s where I might lose some people. The world-building is…slow. Very slow. And some people might call it boring?
But hear me out! The gradual unveiling of this medieval world is part of the charm. It's like watching a flower slowly bloom. Or, more accurately, watching Main slowly acquire enough materials to make a single sheet of paper.
It’s also a bit slice-of-life, which I am a sucker for.

Family Matters (and Laundry)
Main's relationship with her family is surprisingly sweet. Her mom, her dad, her older sister Tuuli – they’re all incredibly supportive, even if they don’t fully understand her obsession.
They provide her with all sort of assistance. Even thought it's little, Main really appreciates them.
It’s refreshing to see a protagonist with a genuinely loving family. No tragic backstories here, folks! Just good ol' fashioned familial support in the face of overwhelming bookish desires.

Although, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t waiting for the tragic backstory. It is an isekai, after all. But, it subverted my expectation!
Crafting and Calamity
The crafting element is HUGE. Soap, shampoo, and even proto-paper become her obsessions. It's like Minecraft but with more sanitation and a burning desire for literacy.
Of course, Main's health is…not great. She's constantly collapsing. It’s almost comedic how often she’s down for the count. Like, girl, maybe pace yourself?
"Must. Make. Books."The mantra of a true bookworm.

Would I Recommend It?
Absolutely! If you're looking for high-octane action, maybe look elsewhere. But if you enjoy slow-burn world-building, quirky characters, and a protagonist who's ridiculously passionate about books, then Ascendance of a Bookworm is definitely worth checking out.
Don’t be afraid to get caught up in Main's quest for the written word. You might even learn a thing or two about the history of paper. And laundry.
I mean, who knew making paper could be so dramatic? It’s a real page-turner, in its own slow and deliberate way!
I already can't wait to read the second volume! Main, you go girl! You get those books!
