Army Wives Season 7 Episode 14 A Final Salute

Okay, let's talk Army Wives. Season 7, Episode 14. "A Final Salute." It was... something.
So. Much. Drama.
Seriously, did they pack every single storyline they could think of into one episode? It felt like a rollercoaster designed by someone who'd only seen rollercoasters in pictures. And possibly after a few too many margaritas.
Joan Burton being all... Joan Burton? Predictable, but still. She's a powerhouse. You gotta give her that.
Must Read
Then there's Denise Sherwood. Bless her heart. Remember when she was just a sweet nurse dealing with Frank's PTSD? Now she's dealing with... well, everything.
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Here it comes. Brace yourselves. I think Roland could be a bit much sometimes. Don't get me wrong, he's a good guy. A great therapist. But his marriage with Joan gave me headaches in the last seasons.
Maybe it's just me, but he always seemed to be saying all the right things at exactly the wrong moments. Anyone else feel me on this?

And what about all the new faces? New characters popping up left and right. It was hard to keep track. I felt like I needed a spreadsheet just to remember everyone's names and backstories.
"Wait, who's that again? And why are they suddenly so important?"my internal monologue kept screaming.
The Goodbye Thing
It was supposed to be a final salute, right? A proper send-off for the show that gave us so many feels. And it tried. I really think it tried.

But did anyone else feel like it was trying too hard? Like it was desperately trying to tie up every loose end with a big, sparkly bow?
I mean, come on. Everyone getting their perfect happy ending? It felt a little... forced. A little too Hollywood.
Real life isn't like that. Especially military life. It's messy. It's complicated. It's full of uncertainty.
I appreciate the attempt at closure, I do. I just wish they'd let some of the imperfections breathe.

Favorite Moments (Despite Everything)
Despite my grumbling, there were moments I genuinely loved. Any scene with Pamela Moran was gold. She always brought the snark and the heart. It was the perfect balance.
And the friendships. That's what always kept me coming back. The bond between these women, even when they were disagreeing, was something special.
That final scene, with all the wives together, raising a glass? That was a good moment. A genuinely touching moment.

Was It A Good Final Salute?
Honestly? It was okay. Not great. Not terrible. Just... okay.
It had its moments. It had its flaws. It had enough drama to fuel a small country.
But ultimately, it was a farewell. And for that, I'll always be grateful to Army Wives. Thanks for the memories, ladies (and gentlemen!).
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch Season 1. Back when things were simpler. Back when Claudia Joy Holden was just trying to keep everyone in line and Roxy LeBlanc was slinging drinks at the Hump Bar. Ah, simpler times.
