App To Track Movies And Tv Shows Watched

Let's talk about something important. Something that affects all of us. I'm talking about remembering what we've actually watched on TV.
I know, I know. It sounds simple. But with approximately one billion streaming services, it's a real struggle.
The Great Streaming Amnesia
Ever scrolled through Netflix and thought, "Hmm, this looks interesting?" Then five minutes in, BAM! You realize you watched the whole thing last year. The horror!
Must Read
This happens to me at least twice a week. My brain is officially Swiss cheese when it comes to remembering my streaming history. Is this an unpopular opinion?
Enter: The Movie & TV Show Tracking App. Or, as I like to call it, my potential savior.
Why Bother Tracking?
Okay, hear me out before you judge. Beyond the aforementioned streaming amnesia, there are other reasons. We need to track our movie and tv show watches.

First, bragging rights, of course! Let everyone know your impeccable (or questionable) taste. Show them your impressive IMDB rating on "Sharknado 7."
Second, recommendations become actually useful. No more suggestions for things you finished years ago, thank you very much, Netflix!
And finally, pure, unadulterated list-making joy. Some of us just like lists, okay? It's a sickness, and this app might be the cure (or at least a coping mechanism).
Choosing Your Weapon (App)
So, which app is the chosen one? The digital oracle of cinematic knowledge?

There are so many! Letterboxd for the film buffs. Trakt.tv for the serious trackers. Even good old IMDB can do the trick.
It really comes down to personal preference. Do you want social features? Detailed stats? A place to write pretentious mini-reviews?
Personally, I'm leaning towards the one with the prettiest interface. Sue me. Functionality is important, but so is eye candy!
The Unpopular Opinion
Here's where I get controversial. Brace yourselves. I... don't think tracking every single thing I watch is necessary.

There! I said it. I don't need to log every episode of "Paw Patrol" I've endured with my niece. Some viewing experiences are best left forgotten.
I’m also pretty sure my brain needs some unstructured time for it to function properly. Over-tracking might lead to digital burnout.
The Middle Ground
So, what's the solution? Moderate tracking, my friends! A curated list of the important stuff.
The movies that moved you. The shows that kept you up all night. The documentaries that made you question your entire existence.

Let the rest fade into the streaming abyss. Embrace the selective memory. Live a little!
Use the app to enhance, not dominate, your viewing experience. To remember the good stuff, and maybe even discover something new along the way.
And if you accidentally re-watch "Tiger King" for the fifth time? Well, no app can save you from that. Maybe just get off the couch and go outside? Just an idea.
Ultimately, it's about finding what works for you. Do you need a digital diary of your streaming habits? Go for it! Do you prefer to live in blissful ignorance? That's cool too. Just don't judge me when I ask if you've seen that new show... that I definitely already watched.
