Anime Where Mc Is Looked Down Upon

Ever feel like you're the underdog? Like you're stuck in a dead-end job answering phones when you know you're destined for greatness? Well, anime gets it!
There's a whole genre dedicated to characters who start at rock bottom, completely underestimated by everyone around them. And it's glorious!
From Zero to Hero (with a lot of Stumbling)
These anime often feature a main character (MC) who's initially seen as weak, useless, or just plain…weird. Imagine being the office intern constantly fetching coffee, only to secretly possess the power to, I don't know, control time!
Must Read
That's the general vibe. It's all about defying expectations.
Examples That Will Make You Cheer
Let's dive into some examples. Think about it, who doesn't love a good comeback story? These shows are pure wish fulfillment.
First, we have Naruto. Yeah, the super famous ninja anime. Remember when Naruto was just the class clown everyone ignored? He was a troublemaker, failing every exam. But he persevered, became super strong and saved the world!

Then there's My Hero Academia, specifically Midoriya Izuku. He's born without a quirk (a superpower) in a world where most people have them.
Talk about being looked down upon! He gets bullied, told he can't be a hero, the works. But guess what? He gets a chance and eventually becomes one of the strongest heroes around.
Let's not forget Attack on Titan, where Eren Yeager starts as a rage-filled kid, everyone probably thought, "Oh, he's just loud."

But turns out, he holds one of the keys to saving humanity! So much for underestimating him.
One of my personal favorites is Rising of the Shield Hero. Naofumi starts out as the weakest, most ridiculed of the heroes.
Accused of something he didn't do, he becomes a pariah, hated by the kingdom. But, he builds a team, gets stronger, and proves everyone wrong, becoming a legend.

Why We Love These Stories
These stories resonate because they tap into something universal: the desire to prove ourselves. We've all been there, haven't we?
Whether it's that school project you thought you'd fail, or that job interview you were sure you bombed, we've all felt underestimated. These anime give us the satisfaction of seeing someone overcome those obstacles, even if it's just on screen.
It's about that feeling when the "loser" suddenly becomes the hero. It's the ultimate "I told you so!" moment, except you're vicariously living it through the anime character.

So, Go Forth and Watch!
So, the next time you're feeling down or like no one believes in you, throw on one of these anime. Remind yourself that even the most unlikely person can achieve greatness.
Cheer for the underdog! Embrace the journey. And maybe, just maybe, you'll find the inspiration to start your own comeback story. You never know, right?
Happy watching!
