America's Funniest Home Videos Season 31 Episode 1

Did Anyone Else Think AFV Season 31 Started a Little... Slow?
Okay, okay, don't throw tomatoes! I love America's Funniest Home Videos. It's practically a national treasure.
But, was it just me, or did Season 31 Episode 1 need a little extra oomph?
The Usual Suspects: Kids, Animals, and Unintentional Stunts
We got the standard fare, of course. A kid face-planting into a cake? Check. A dog chasing its tail until dizzy? Double-check.
Must Read
Someone tripping over their own feet in spectacular fashion? Naturally. It's the AFV formula!
And let's be honest, that formula usually works.
My (Possibly Unpopular) Opinion
This time, though? I felt like I'd seen these clips before. Like, exactly these clips before.
Maybe it's just the sheer volume of internet content we consume these days. Everything feels like a remix of something else.
Or maybe my funny bone was just feeling a little grumpy that night.

The Host With the Most... Zzzzz?
Alfonso Ribeiro is great! He's got that infectious energy.
But even his charm couldn't quite elevate some of those earlier segments, at least for me.
I was hoping for some truly next-level fails. Some epic, viral-worthy moments.
Was the Joke on Us?
I suspect the problem lies in the accessibility of cameras now. Everyone's got a phone, and everyone's filming everything.
So, the truly unique "home video" is harder to come by. We're all accidental filmmakers now.

Maybe the show needs to adapt. Perhaps more themed episodes or a focus on truly bizarre scenarios.
That Award Show Feel
Anyone else notice the slightly longer introductions for each clip? It felt a tad like padding.
Like they were trying to stretch out the episode. Almost like an awards show ceremony.
It's AFV, give us the gags and keep it snappy!
One Clip DID Stand Out, Though...
Okay, to be fair, there was one that had me genuinely snorting with laughter. It involved a squirrel, a bird feeder, and a whole lot of acrobatics.

That squirrel deserves an Emmy. Or at least a lifetime supply of nuts.
It proved that the magic is still there, just needs to be found amidst all the digital noise.
Is AFV Losing Its Edge?
Look, I'm not saying AFV is past its prime. Far from it!
But in a world saturated with online videos, the show faces a unique challenge. It needs to stay fresh.
It needs to keep surprising us. It needs more squirrels doing acrobatics.

Here's Hoping for an Epic Season!
Ultimately, I'm still a loyal viewer. I want AFV to succeed.
I'm rooting for it to find that next generation of hilarious mishaps. Give me the belly laughs!
Let's hope Season 31 picks up steam. And maybe finds a few more squirrel gymnasts along the way.
What are your thought on the season premiere?
Is my opinion completely out of left field? Did you find Season 31 Episode 1 side-splittingly hilarious?
I would love to know your thoughts. What were your favorite moments?
And more importantly, was I the only one who thought it was slightly, just slightly, underwhelming?
