All Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movies

Okay, let's be real. We all secretly love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies. Even the bad ones. Don't even try to deny it. From pizza to ninjas, what's not to love?
The OG Trilogy: Shell Shockingly Good (Mostly)
The first movie in 1990? Classic. Dark, gritty, and surprisingly good. Splinter was awesome, and Shredder was legitimately scary.
Then came Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. This one gets a lot of hate, but I kind of dig it. Okay, maybe Tokka and Rahzar were a bit goofy, but who didn't love Vanilla Ice's "Ninja Rap"? Seriously, be honest.
Must Read
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III... Well, this one's the black sheep. Time travel to feudal Japan? A little out there, even for mutant turtles. Let's just say we don't talk about it that much.
The 2000s: A New Shell?
Fast forward to 2007, and we get TMNT, a CGI animated flick. It was okay. A darker tone, but it felt… distant. It was nice seeing them back, but something was missing.

I think the lack of a truly memorable villain hurt it. The Foot Clan were there, but Shredder's absence was felt. Still, it was a decent attempt to revive the franchise.
The Bayhem Era: Turtle Power... or Power Overload?
Then Michael Bay got his hands on the turtles. Boom. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016). Big, loud, and full of explosions.

These movies are... divisive, to say the least. The turtles looked a little… different. Some people loved the updated look, others… not so much. I'm on the fence.
Let's be fair, Out of the Shadows had some great moments. Krang! Beebop and Rocksteady! It was a nostalgia bomb, even if it was a bit over the top.
My Unpopular Opinion (Prepare Yourselves)
Here it comes: I actually enjoyed the Bay Turtles movies. Yeah, they're flawed. Yeah, they're a bit much. But they're also a lot of fun!

Sometimes you just want to see giant turtles kick butt and eat pizza. These movies delivered on that front, even if they sacrificed some of the charm of the original.
Plus, Megan Fox as April O'Neil? I’m not complaining.

The Future: Will the Shell Rise Again?
We've had animated shows, comics, and even more movies. The turtles are here to stay. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem got a lot of buzz lately.
Each generation gets their own version of the heroes in a half shell. Whether you prefer the gritty originals, the cheesy sequels, or the explosive reboots, there's a TMNT movie out there for everyone. So grab a slice and enjoy!
Cowabunga!
