All Mortal Kombat Games In Chronological Order

Okay, let's talk Mortal Kombat. We're going on a trip. A chronological trip! Prepare yourself for pixelated punches and gallons of digital blood.
The OG Days (and the Pixelated Blood)
Mortal Kombat (1992)
This is where it all began. Remember those graphics? They were... something. My unpopular opinion? Sub-Zero's fatality was always cooler than Scorpion's. Fight me.
Mortal Kombat II (1993)
More characters! More fatalities! And more digitized actors trying their best. Shang Tsung stealing souls? Classic. Still, too many secret characters that required too much button pressing.
Must Read
Mortal Kombat 3 (1995)
Okay, now we're talking running meters and animalities. Some liked it, some didn't. Personally, I think the auto-combos were a little... much. Also, where did all the ninjas go?
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (1995)
Alright, they heard us! The ninjas are back! And Sheeva... because why not? Adding more content is a win, I guess?

The 3D Era (and the Occasional Disaster)
Mortal Kombat 4 (1997)
3D! Finally! ...right? This one's a bit divisive. Quan Chi was a decent villain. But those polygon faces haunted my nightmares.
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (2002)
Now we’re talking improvement! More detailed and the combat was refined. Bo' Rai Cho? A hilarious addition! But the story? A bit convoluted for my taste.

Mortal Kombat: Deception (2004)
Konquest mode! Remember wandering around aimlessly? Good times! I have to admit, the stage fatalities were pretty brutal.
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (2006)
Everyone is here! And... that's kind of the problem. Too many characters, not enough personality. The create-a-fighter was fun, though. My ninja turtle was the best, don't question me.
The Reboot and Beyond (and the Return to Form)
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe (2008)
Okay, this happened. Mild blood? Limited fatalities? Batman beating Scorpion? My childhood weeps. Though seeing some of the DC characters get fatalities was surprisingly satisfying.

Mortal Kombat (2011)
A complete reboot! And a fantastic one. The story mode was actually engaging. The fatalities were gloriously gruesome once again. This is where the series truly made a comeback.
Mortal Kombat X (2015)
Variations! New characters! And Johnny Cage's daughter? Okay, that's a good legacy character. Brutalities made a return and some of them are genuinely terrifying.

Mortal Kombat 11 (2019)
Time travel shenanigans! Customization options galore! Another solid entry. The story was...interesting, I'll give it that. Kronika might be my least favorite boss of the series, sorry not sorry.
Mortal Kombat 1 (2023)
Liu Kang rebooted the universe, again! A fresh start. The Kameo fighters are a fun addition. The new timelines can create exciting potential for new characters and storylines.
So, there you have it! Every Mortal Kombat game in order. Agree? Disagree? Let me know in the comments... and prepare to face my wrath (digitally, of course!).
