All Creatures Great And Small 2020 Season 2

Okay, let's talk All Creatures Great and Small, specifically season 2. I know, I know, everyone loves it. Like, really loves it. But I have some thoughts. Maybe even…unpopular thoughts?
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it too. Rolling hills, cute animals, heartwarming stories – what's not to love? But season 2 felt…different. A little less charming? Maybe I'm just being grumpy.
The Siegfried Effect
Siegfried Farnon! The eccentric, blustering boss. We all adore him. But did anyone else feel he was extra blustery in season 2?
Must Read
He seemed determined to be difficult. More temperamental than usual. It's like he'd doubled down on his "slightly mad genius" persona. Was it too much? I'm asking for a friend.
James Herriot's Indecisiveness
James, our earnest hero. Constantly torn between Darrowby and Glasgow. We get it, James! Family is important.
But his dithering became a bit much. Pick a place, man! Commit! The suspense was killing me. I wanted to yell at the screen, "Just choose already!"

And the relationship with Helen? Sweet, but maybe a tad slow-paced. I was practically begging for a decision. Like, snail-mail slow.
The Case of the Missing Spark
The animal cases are the heart of the show. We get to see all sorts of furry, feathery, and sometimes slimy patients.
But did the stories feel a bit…formulaic? Sick animal, tense vet, happy ending. It was still enjoyable, but the edge was gone for some episodes.

I missed the truly surprising cases. The ones that made you gasp. Maybe season 1 spoiled me. I can admit that!
Mrs. Hall: The Unsung Hero (Always)
Okay, Mrs. Hall is perfect. No notes. She holds everything together. Always.
Her quiet strength and unwavering support are what makes the show truly special. Mrs. Hall is the glue! Period.

Seriously, can we get a spin-off? Mrs. Hall's Kitchen? I would watch every episode. I’m sure many will.
The Verdict: Still Good, But...
Look, I'm not saying season 2 was bad. It was still All Creatures. Comforting, charming, and filled with beautiful scenery.
But, in my humble opinion, it lacked the spark of the first season. Maybe it was the pacing. Maybe it was the characters acting a little too…character-y.

I know this might be sacrilege. But I had to say it. Feel free to disagree! We can still be friends. Even if you think Siegfried Farnon is always perfect. (He's not. Just kidding! ...Mostly.)
I am still excited for season 3. Maybe it will recapture the magic of the first season? I'm hopeful. And I'll be ready with my tea and biscuits, prepared to be charmed once again.
Just please, James, make a decision already!
