Alice Through The Looking Glass Blu Ray Review

Okay, let's talk Alice Through the Looking Glass. The Blu-ray. I know, I know. It's been out for ages. But some things just need to be said.
Is It Just Me, Or...?
Am I the only one who kind of... liked it? A little bit? Don't get me wrong, the first one, Alice in Wonderland, is a classic. But this sequel gets a lot of hate.
Maybe it's the vibrant colors. Maybe it's the sheer craziness of it all. Or perhaps it's just my love for a good, over-the-top Tim Burton-esque world.
Must Read
The Visuals: Eye Candy Overload
The Blu-ray version is visually stunning. Wonderland is even more vibrant and bonkers in high definition. The details are insane!
Seriously, pause it at any random moment. You'll find some new, bizarre detail you missed before. It's like a scavenger hunt for weirdness.
From the Mad Hatter's outrageous hats to the Queen of Hearts' fiery temper, it's all amplified. If you're into visual feasts, this Blu-ray delivers.

The Story: A Bit of a Hot Mess (But in a Fun Way!)
Okay, the plot is… convoluted. Time travel, family drama, and a whole lot of shouting. It's a lot to take in.
But isn’t that part of the charm? It's so gloriously messy! Alice is trying to fix a problem she created.
Trying to untangle the timelines and family secrets is an adventure. A ridiculously over-the-top adventure, mind you. I love it!
The Characters: More Madness, Please!
Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter is… well, he’s being Johnny Depp. Some love it, some hate it. I’m somewhere in the middle, enjoying the performance.

Helena Bonham Carter as the Queen of Hearts? Perfection. Absolute, unhinged perfection.
And Mia Wasikowska as Alice? She holds her own in a world of absolute lunacy. You have to admire her determination.
The Blu-Ray Extras: Worth a Peek?
The Blu-ray comes with the usual extras. Behind-the-scenes stuff, making-of featurettes, the works.

They're not groundbreaking. But they're interesting enough if you want a deeper dive into the film's creation.
Mostly it's just nice to see the actors out of costume and relatively sane. Which, after watching the movie, is a relief.
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Here it is. My controversial take: I think Alice Through the Looking Glass is a fun, visually stunning, and entertainingly bonkers movie. It is the kind of movie you watch once and never again.
Is it a masterpiece? Absolutely not. Does it make perfect sense? Nope. Did I enjoy escaping into its madness for a couple of hours? You bet I did!

And on Blu-ray, it's even more of a treat for the eyes. So, there, I said it. Judge me if you must.
“Have I gone mad?” “I’m afraid so. You’re entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret. All the best people are.” ― Alice in Wonderland
Maybe I'm just embracing my inner bonkers. Maybe you should too. Give the Blu-ray another shot.
You might just find yourself enjoying the madness. Or not. Either way, at least you'll have something to talk about!
