Adventure Time Stakes Part 3 Full Episode

Okay, let's talk Adventure Time. Specifically, Stakes. And even MORE specifically, Stakes Part 3.

Remember "Everything Stays"?

Ugh, Marceline's past is a mess. We get it! It's all very sad and angsty. But did it have to be quite so drawn out?

I think "Stakes Part 3" is... fine. Just fine. Not amazing, not terrible, just perfectly, blandly...fine.

Don't @ me! I said what I said! Prepare for my unpopular opinion.

The flashbacks are the main drag. We spend SO much time seeing Marceline's tragic origin story again.

Like, girl, we get it. Your dad's a jerk. You were alone. Boo hoo! (Just kidding... mostly.)

Seriously though, did we really need another lengthy montage of her wandering the wasteland?

The Vampire King is the big bad of this whole arc, right? But in "Part 3," he's...kinda pathetic.

He's basically just a big, goofy monster who yells a lot. Where's the menace?

Maybe that's the point? Showing the vulnerability of what you thought was the biggest threat? I don't know.

Finn and Jake are doing their usual hero thing. Trying to help Marceline. Being brave and loyal and all that jazz.

But they're mostly just reacting to Marceline's drama. They don't really have much agency in this episode.

It's like, "Oh no! Marceline's sad! Better fight some vampires!". Groundbreaking.

Okay, I'll admit it. "Everything Stays" is a banger. Olivia Olson has an amazing voice.

But even a great song can't save an entire episode. It's like putting a diamond on a pile of dirt.

The diamond sparkles. The dirt is still dirt, folks.

Don't get me wrong, I adore the Stakes arc overall! It's a fantastic exploration of Marceline's character. It has amazing animation.

But for me, "Part 3" is where it stumbles a little. It loses some momentum.

It's like running a marathon and tripping over a pebble in the last mile.

Think about the Adventure Time finale. Emotional, action-packed, everything comes together perfectly.

"Stakes Part 3"... it's not that. Not even close. There is a clear difference.

Maybe I'm being too harsh. But I think it's okay to admit that even great shows have some weaker episodes.

Look, I still love Adventure Time. Even the episodes I don't think are perfect.

It's a show that takes risks, that's heartfelt, that's just plain weird and wonderful. Stakes Part 3 is fine!

So, maybe give "Stakes Part 3" another watch. Maybe you'll see something I missed. Or maybe you'll agree with my slightly controversial take.
