Add Disney Gift Card To My Disney Experience

Okay, let's be real. We all love a good Disney trip, right? Sunshine, churros, and maybe even a glimpse of Mickey. But there's one thing that always makes me scratch my head.
Why can't I just add my Disney Gift Card to My Disney Experience and be done with it?
The Gift Card Conundrum
Seriously, think about it. We live in the future! We can order groceries with a tap. We can unlock our cars with our phones. We can even watch a movie on our watch (though I wouldn't recommend it).
Must Read
Yet, when it comes to spending my hard-earned (or, let's be honest, gifted) Disney dollars, I have to lug around a physical card? Is this 1995?
I know, I know. I hear the whispers. "But it's so easy to use!" Maybe. But it's also so easy to lose. Especially when you're juggling a Mickey pretzel, a park map, and trying to wrangle a stroller.
The App-solutely Annoying Truth
My Disney Experience is supposed to be this magical portal. A place where all my Disney dreams come true. From booking dining reservations to mobile ordering my Dole Whip, it's got it all.

Except... you guessed it...gift card integration! It’s like they’re purposely trying to make things complicated. Is it just me, or does anyone else find this incredibly inconvenient?
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the convenience of mobile ordering. I truly do. It's a lifesaver when the kids are hangry and the line for the Plaza Restaurant stretches to Tomorrowland.
But then I get to the payment screen. And there it is. The dreaded "Scan Gift Card" option. Out comes the card! The struggle is real. It's like they want me to drop my churro in dismay.

Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Here's where things get a little controversial. Are you ready? I think Disney is intentionally making it difficult. Gasp!
Okay, hear me out. Could it be that they want us to spend more? By not having a readily available balance staring us in the face on the app, are we more likely to just tap "Pay" with our credit card? Possibly!
It’s a business, after all. They're experts at getting us to part with our money. I just wish they'd make it a little less... obvious.

Maybe they think the physical card adds to the experience? Like some sort of tangible connection to the magic? I dunno. I'm reaching here.
Or perhaps they are just behind the times. I hope this is it. Catch up, Disney!
A Plea to the Mouse
So, Disney, if you're listening (or reading!), please, PLEASE consider adding gift card integration to My Disney Experience. Think of the possibilities! Think of the convenience! Think of the churros we could all save!

It would make our vacations just a little bit more magical. And a little bit less... fiddly. I’m sure I am not the only one dreaming of the day I can seamlessly use my gift card.
I mean, if you can track my every move in the park, surely you can handle a gift card balance, right? Just a thought!
Until then, I'll keep my gift card close. And maybe invest in a good lanyard. Because, let's face it, I'm probably going to need it.
