Ace Attorney The Dark Age Of Love

Okay, let's be real. We all love Ace Attorney. But has anyone else noticed something... missing?
Love? In My Courtroom?!
I know, I know. It's a game about solving crimes. But hear me out! We spend hours with these characters.
Shouldn't at least someone find a special someone? I think the dating pool is, shall we say, a bit dry.
Must Read
The Case of the Missing Romance
Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey? Adorable. But strictly platonic! Miles Edgeworth? Too busy with his daddy issues (understandable!).
Even Gumshoe is unlucky in love. My heart breaks for the guy!
It's like everyone's sworn a vow of celibacy. Except, you know, to the law.
Exhibit A: Unrequited Feelings (Probably)
Think about Iris Hawthorne and Phoenix. That was sweet and tragic.

But even then, it was more about angst than actual, you know, dating.
And let's not even get started on the ambiguity around Edgeworth. The shipping community is working overtime there.
Defense's Argument: It's For the Best (Maybe?)
Okay, maybe romantic subplots would distract from the investigations. True!
Maybe adding love triangles would turn it into a cheesy soap opera. I concede.

But a little bit of flirting wouldn't hurt, right? A subtle hint of mutual attraction? Is that too much to ask for a little ace romance?
Objection! It's Realistic!
Some say that the lack of romance is realistic. Courtrooms aren't exactly romantic hotspots.
I get that. But this is a world with spirit channeling and samurai robots! A little love is hardly the most unbelievable thing.
The Verdict: A Touch of Romance, Please!
Don't get me wrong, I love Ace Attorney as it is.

But a dash of romance would add another layer to the characters. It would give us something to squee about between murder trials.
I'm not saying everyone needs to find "the one." But maybe a casual date? A shy confession? A stolen kiss in the detention center (okay, maybe not that last one).
My Unpopular Opinion: Love is Elementary, My Dear Watson!
Maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic. Maybe I watch too many rom-coms.
But I truly believe that even in the dark age of the law, a little love can shine through.

So, Capcom, if you're listening...consider it! Give us a spin-off! Ace Attorney: Dating Sim. I'd buy it!
Seriously. I would.
Don't act like you wouldn't either.
Final Thoughts.
Just a little love will make Ace Attorney a more complete and human story.
Because even lawyers needs love, am I right?
So, what do you think? Am I crazy? Sound off in the comments! I'm ready for your (hopefully polite) disagreement.
