A Place To Call Home Season 1 Episode 6

Let's Talk A Place to Call Home Episode 6, Shall We?
Okay, settle in, folks. We need to dissect episode six of A Place to Call Home's first season. Remember that one? Drama was definitely brewing in Inverness.
I'm just going to say it. I'm not sure I loved it as much as everyone else seems to. Don't hate me! It's just my opinion.
The Sarah and George Saga Continues...
Sarah and George, where do we even begin? Their relationship is like a rollercoaster. One minute they're gazing lovingly into each other's eyes. The next, they're practically at each other's throats.
Must Read
I found their arguments a little exhausting, to be honest. Couldn't they just communicate like normal adults? Or is that too much to ask for in a soapy drama?
I did enjoy seeing Sarah's growing confidence. She was starting to really stand up for herself. Go, Sarah, go!
Anna's Teenage Angst: Relatable or Annoying?
Ah, Anna. The teenage tornado of emotions. She was definitely giving her parents a run for their money in this episode.

Her rebellious phase was kicking into high gear. Sneaking out and causing trouble... sound familiar to anyone?
I think most of us can relate to teenage angst on some level. But sometimes, Anna's behavior just made me roll my eyes. I wanted to yell at the screen, "Just listen to your parents for once!"
The Dark Clouds Around Elizabeth
Elizabeth, bless her heart, was as frosty as ever. She was always plotting and scheming, wasn’t she?

She was busy trying to manipulate everyone around her. It was almost a full-time job for her! You have to admire the dedication, I guess.
I actually felt a tiny bit of sympathy for her. Okay, maybe a minuscule amount. But her life seemed pretty lonely, even with all the power she wielded.
Unpopular Opinion Time: The Jack and Carolyn Romance?
Okay, here's where I might lose some of you. I wasn't completely sold on the Jack and Carolyn romance. I know, I know, heresy!

Something about it felt a little forced to me. Maybe it was the age gap. Or maybe it was just the way it was written.
I just didn't feel the spark that everyone else seemed to see. Sorry, not sorry!
The Verdict: Still Worth Watching?
Despite my little gripes, episode six definitely had its moments. The costumes and scenery were gorgeous, as always. And the drama kept you hooked, even if it was a bit over-the-top at times.

Even if I found some characters more annoying than others, I was invested. I wanted to know what happened next.
So, yes, I'd still recommend watching this episode. Just be prepared for some serious drama and maybe a few eye rolls. You were warned!
What do you think? Did you love episode six? Or are you with me in my slightly unpopular opinion? Let me know!
