Wakey, wakey! The sun's barely peeking through the blinds, but someone's already decided it's breakfast time. For Barnaby the Beagle, it's a full-blown symphony of tail wags and happy yips aimed directly at getting me out of bed.
Meanwhile, across the hall, Princess Fluffybutt the Third (yes, that's her official title) is engaging in a more...subtle strategy. A gentle paw tap on my face. If that fails, a carefully placed hairball demonstration. You know, just in case I forgot who truly rules this house.
The Breakfast Bonanza
Dog bowl gets filled? Instant vacuum cleaner mode. Every single kibble devoured in record time. Is there more? There's always room for more, right?

Princess Fluffybutt observes all this nonsense from the windowsill. What a barbaric display. She's much too refined for such vulgar outdoor excursions.
Her morning consists of strategically placed naps in sunbeams, a thorough grooming session, and a brief, condescending stare at the mailman.
The Afternoon Slump
Barnaby, exhausted from his epic adventure, collapses into a snoring heap at my feet. Dreams of squirrels and endless fields of tennis balls fill his slumber.
Meanwhile, the Princess has discovered a cardboard box. All other toys are now irrelevant. The box is life. The box is love. The box is the ultimate kingdom.

The Evening Entertainment
Dinner time round two! Barnaby performs his "starving dog" routine with Oscar-worthy dramatics. You'd think he hadn't eaten in weeks.
The Princess demands her evening tuna. Only the flaky kind, mind you. She bats at my ankles until her demands are met. Service, hooman, service!
Then it’s cuddle time! Barnaby becomes a furry heat source, determined to glue himself to my side on the sofa. He’s a professional cuddler. The best in the business.
The Princess deigns to grace us with her presence. She circles three times, kneads my blanket, and then settles in...directly on my keyboard. Priorities, you know?
Nighty Night, Sleep Tight
As the stars begin to twinkle, Barnaby curls up in his dog bed, dreaming sweet dreams of treats and tummy rubs.
The Princess, however, is just getting started. A midnight prowl through the house. A daring leap onto the highest shelf. A strategic hairball deposited right outside my bedroom door.
Her work here is done. Time for her beauty sleep (on my freshly laundered pillow, naturally).
