24 Hours In Police Custody Season 5 Episode 1

A Night (and Day) to Remember: My Thoughts on 24 Hours in Police Custody Season 5, Episode 1
Okay, confession time. I'm a total sucker for 24 Hours in Police Custody. I just can't help myself.
Season 5, Episode 1, "The Body in the Canal," didn't disappoint. But, and there's always a but, here are some thoughts brewing in my head.
First Impressions: Intrigue and…Lockdown Hair?
Right off the bat, the episode grabbed you. Body in a canal? Classic dramatic opening!
Must Read
But I couldn’t help but notice everyone's hair. Seriously, lockdown must have been rough on the Bedfordshire police force.
Unpopular opinion: I almost prefer the gritty realism to the overly styled true crime shows. It makes everything feel more real.
Enter: The Suspect. Or Should I Say…Suspects?
We meet Paul, the boyfriend, pretty quickly. He becomes a prime suspect, as they often are in these cases.

Then there's the friend, Peter. Both had a story, but whose was truer?
Confession: I immediately suspected Peter. Something about his demeanour just screamed “I know more than I'm letting on.” Don't judge me!
The Interrogation Room: A Masterclass in Cat and Mouse
The interrogation scenes are always my favorite part. The detectives are so good at their jobs.
It's a game of cat and mouse. They chip away at the suspect's story, looking for cracks in the façade.

I have to admit, I’m constantly shouting advice at the TV. It’s never taken, sadly.
My Unpopular Opinion: Detective Ed is the Real MVP
Now, hear me out. Everyone loves Detective Claire (and rightfully so, she’s brilliant).
But Detective Ed’s calm, measured approach really resonated with me. He was quietly effective.

He's like the silent assassin of police work. Understated genius!
The Verdict: Guilty or Not Guilty?
The twists and turns kept me guessing. It was honestly nail-biting.
Trying to piece together the evidence alongside the detectives felt like a proper mental workout.
Did they get the right person? Well, you'll have to watch it to find out!

Final Thoughts: Addicted to the Drama
Ultimately, "The Body in the Canal" was a solid start to Season 5. The human element is what keeps me hooked.
It's not just about solving the crime; it's about the impact on the families and the dedication of the officers.
I'm already counting down the days until I can binge-watch the rest of the season. Don't judge!
I might be addicted.
And let's be honest, who doesn't love a good bit of true crime on a rainy afternoon?
