10 Things I Hate About You Movie Watch

Okay, don't @ me. I just re-watched 10 Things I Hate About You. And, well, some things bugged me.

Here are 10 (slightly unpopular) thoughts:

1. Padua High's Acceptance Rate

Seriously, everyone is gorgeous. Was there a genetic screening program I missed? I feel a school where at least one student has questionable fashion sense would be more realistic.

2. Kat Stratford's Perpetual Grumpiness

I get it, teenage angst. But lighten up, Kat! Cracking a smile once in a while won't kill you.

3. Patrick Verona's Mysterious Past

He's brooding and paid to date someone? What's the deal? I need more backstory on this bad boy.

4. The Paintball Scene Chaos

Paintball is not a free-for-all battle royale. Where are the refs? Where are the safety goggles?

5. Joey Donner's Modeling Career

He’s a male model? Really? I feel like the movie tries too hard to convince us he’s hot stuff.

6. Bianca's Naiveté

She's supposedly popular, but also…oblivious. How does she not see Joey's intentions a mile away?

7. The Poem Read At the Game.

It just feels so clichéd and unrealistic. Poems don't do that, specially not in front of a whole crowd of high schoolers. It still makes me tear up, though.

8. Walter Stratford's Overprotectiveness

Okay, Dad, we get it. You're worried about your daughters. But the pregnancy suit is a bit much, don't you think?

9. Heath Ledger's Ability to Afford Impromptu Romantic Gestures

Where did Patrick get all that money for the guitar and the stadium serenade? Was he secretly a trust fund kid? I call shenanigans!

10. The Speed Dating Scene

Okay, so, the concept itself is funny. But the dialogues were a bit cringe. What do they even know about one another after that?

Don't Get Me Wrong...

I still love 10 Things I Hate About You. It's a classic for a reason.

The actors are amazing. The soundtrack is killer.

But sometimes, you just gotta poke fun at your favorites, right? I'm ready for the comments to start.
