10 Things I Hate About You Movie Hulu

Okay, okay, hear me out. I know 10 Things I Hate About You is a classic. Everyone loves it. But, I have some... thoughts. Things that maybe, just maybe, irk me a little.
The Obvious "Hate" List
1. Heath Ledger's "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" Scene... Kinda.
Yes, it's iconic. Yes, I swoon a little. But the megaphone? Felt a bit forced, didn't it? Like, REALLY extra for a high schooler.
2. Kat's Instant Transformation.
Seriously? One kiss and suddenly she's prom queen material? I call shenanigans. Character development needs more than lip gloss and a makeover montage.
Must Read
3. Joey Donner's Hair.
It's a personal thing, I admit. But that hair? So 90s. So very, very distracting.
Deeper Dives into Dislike
4. Walter Stratford's Overprotective Dad Routine.
I get it, he's a single dad. But forbidding dating entirely? Come on! That's just asking for trouble. Plus, his job as an OB/GYN is brought up WAY too often.

5. Patrick Verona's Mysterious Past.
We know he's got a reputation. We know he's paid to date Kat. But beyond that, he's a bit of an enigma. I needed more backstory!
6. The Slapstick Comedy.
Sometimes, the movie veers into goofy territory. The paintball scene? A little too much. It clashes with the more serious themes.

7. Bianca's Shallowness.
Okay, she's a teenager. But her obsession with popularity feels a little one-dimensional. I wanted her to have more depth! Is it only Joey Donner and make-up?
The Nitpicks No One Asked For
8. The Padua High School Setting.
Supposedly Seattle, but filmed in Tacoma? My inner geography nerd can't handle it. Give me a Space Needle or something!

9. The Way "Taming of the Shrew" is Handled.
The movie is based on Shakespeare. But the adaptation feels... loose. Like they just grabbed the title and ran. Maybe I'm being a purist.
10. The Fact That I Still Watch It.
Despite all these "hates," I still find myself watching 10 Things I Hate About You on Hulu. The irony! Maybe it's the 90s nostalgia. Maybe it's young Heath Ledger. Whatever it is, I can't quit it. So maybe "hate" is too strong a word. Let's call it... a complicated relationship.
So, are you with me? Any other unpopular opinions about this beloved film?
